While Pilates can benefit anyone - and I’m passionate about people moving more for long term mobility, if you’re one of the 84% of adults who experience lower back pain at some point, you’ll know just how much of a negative impact on can have on your day-to-day life.

From feeling sore when you wake up, to struggling to do the things you want to, lower back pain can be really limiting!

But with a systematic review carried out last year demonstrating that Pilates was the most effective form of exercise for lower back pain, it could make a huge difference for you!

I’m all about genuinely supporting people to move more.

That’s why I don’t sell places at a one-hour class and pretend that on its own it will revolutionise your fitness. Because – truth bomb – it won’t!

It’s great to attend a class to build technique, get that resistance movement built in and feel part of a team to keep you motivated but you need more if you’re going to live a long and healthy life.

Moving in line with the National Guidelines can reduce your risk of mortality from any cause by 44% in the next 10 years, so I give my members as many tools as I can to help them move more outside of their classes.

About my private 121 studio Pilates sessions.

I also offer one to one Equipment Pilates sessions in my own Frampton Cotterall studio.

Here I develop personalised programmes for people who want faster progress towards their movement goals – whether that’s to be able to move without feeling discomfort, recovering from an injury, or even wanting to build an understanding of their own movement challenges before joining a class.
